Once Upon a Tide

The house was great! It had everything we needed and more! The location was perfect, we loved the easy walk to the beach. We had seven people and had plenty of space. The pool was great! It was nice to come back to after a day at the beach. The house was very clean. The beds were comfortable!

Spent a week at this location. Everything was just as described. Had an amazing view from both balconies. Management was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Cape San Blas is our favorite vacation spot and will definitely be back.

We had the greatest time!! We were surrounded by our children and families, as we were married on the beach on 9/3. The house was perfect for some of our family, as well as the small reception afterwards. The balcony over the pool was definitely a favorite spot. We brought items from home, but left them packed because the home was so well appointed, with many details that are often overlooked in our prior rentals. Everything was perfect!! Perfect location. Close to the beach, with easy access to beach. Clean, with lots of needed supplies available. My family had a great vacation and we are talking about staying again next August. Loved everything about it.

We have been renting from Be Our Guests rentals for the last three or so years and couldn’t ask for better experiences! Love the modern vibe and decor and cleanliness. Also the added necessities they provide are so helpful. Can’t say enough about the owner! She is so very friendly and kind. Top Notch! The Cape and Be Our Guests never disappoints!

We’ve stayed at many places on the Cape, and this home didn’t disappoint! Family of 10, including a baby and we had plenty of space. Thankful for the home having a pack-n-play and high chair. Also loved that it had beach towels for EVERYONE! Well stocked kitchen was great, as we cooked all our meals at the house. The pool was so relaxing after a day at the beach. It’s a short walk down to the beach, unfortunately there is some erosion at this area of the beach currently, so we had to walk a bit to the right or left to have room to set up a tent, but it was worth it.. Beautiful water all week! Can’t say enough great things about Donna, she snagged us some extra beach chairs when we realized we didn’t bring enough, and went above and beyond for all our needs! Can’t wait to be back at the Cape next year!

It was perfect! This home was clean and in excellent condition. We do not have furry friends, however, we did not find a trace of previous visitors. You could see the forethought the owners had in the design and amenities. The layout was so accommodating for our family. The location is in a quiet area with beautiful views from the decks and convenient to the Cape's restaurants and activities. It is a short walk to the beach, however, erosion was great during our visit, so the trek was a little challenging. Our grands enjoyed "their beach pool" and we enjoyed the lower level design including an icemaker and mini-fridge and a pass by the laundry before you go upstairs, Brilliant! The kitchen is fully stocked and met all of our meal preparation needs. The decor is definitely beachy, with a color palette that is subtle and calming. We definitely were able to unwind here as we enjoyed the sunrise and sunset on the beach and introduced our grands to the beach and gulf waters. The cleaning staff did a wonderful job. Donna with BOG was our friend. She seemed to be as available and resourceful as SIRI ;) Donna certainly added an incredible value to this wonderful home. We are very grateful to the owners and Donna for providing us with the location for an iconic family vacay. Thanks so much!!!!! Can't wait for our next visit.

This was our second year in Once Upon A Tide and it was perfect again. Location is in a quiet area with a very short walk to the beach. It is close enough that you can easily go back and forth to the house if needed. The house was clean and beautifully decorated.down to every little detail. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more. The decks are great to sit on and enjoy your morning coffee. And being dog friendly is a bonus so we can to take our furry kids. I cannot say enough about Donna, she is the best. We will not rent from any other rental company. Cannot wait til next year!

Once upon a tide was an absolutely amazing rental! We have never stayed somewhere that they thought of everything! There were kids cups and silverware to use. Plenty of pans and silverware for a bigger family. They even had a step stool for the little ones to use if needed. I could go on & on! Beautiful decor, just wonderful. What made it even better was the short walk to the beach!

Considering this property has 3 stories, the built in gates came in handy with a toddler! Plenty of space, not a lot of clutter, good A/C, generally clean, plenty of amenities, etc! The ice maker and extra mini fridge downstairs came in handy. Short walk to the beach as stated. Minimal beach view but we would stay here again.

First, we love Cape San Blas!! A favorite beach in driving distance. This is the second time we’ve stayed at Once Upon a Tide, and I’ve already booked a stay for next year. The home is perfect for our family with plenty of room for everyone. The pool is the perfect size for a cooling off stop after a day on the beach. Love the ice maker and wine cooler on the first floor.

There are a few things to note as improvements but not worth sharing here as they are minor. I do wish folks would be more considerate of the kitchen items. They’ve taken a beating in one year. To other guests - Please stop using metal utensils on the pots and pans. There are rubber and wooden ones available, so please be more contentious.

The view was fantastic last year (2020) and now a new home is being built right in the middle of our view to the beach - this was disappointing but not a deal breaker. It’s a short walk to the beach, which is not an issue. Love that they have a cart and canopy tent available to guests.

We always feel at home here. Looking forward to returning next year.

This was our second time renting and we're pleased with the upgrades since 2019. The bar and ice machine on the ground level are fantastic. Removal of the hot tub made for a more usable pool patio and the new lounge chairs are very nice.Overall, the house is very well maintained, very comfortable and functional furnishings and well stocked kitchen utensils, dishes, glasses, etc.Great location and gravel driveway to prevent getting stuck in sand. Nice pool and patio area as well as properly functioning A/C. We will definitely be returning

This was our 11th trip to the Cape and must say one of the best. Once Upon a Tide was perfect down to every little detail. I am thankful we were able to bring our fur babies along with us. The house has everything you could need and a great location. Donna was wonderful to work with. We will definitely rebook as soon as we can decide on a date. Thank you for making our family vacation a great one to remember.

This was our 2nd stay at Once Upon a Tide. It is the perfect fit for our family. We had 5 adults and 3 kids and plenty of room. The kids enjoy the private pool. The ice maker in the downstairs family room was great to have. We took a snow cone machine with us and enjoyed many snow cones during our stay. And it is only a short walk to the beach. We will definitely be staying there again.

the house was wonderful, great location. The only complaint we had was the water from the frig tasted funny and we found mold inside the dispenser, just used bottled water. loved the beach towels and the outdoor furniture!

We had the best week in this home. I can’t say enough of the wonderful hospitality of Donna (the manager), the general store down the street, and the shrimp market next to it. Everyone is so friendly. The house was everything we could ask for and more, clean, up to date, spacious, and comfortable. Thank you so much. We will be back soon!

fabulous property will become our go-to for San Blas. Pictures don't do it justice. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms and kitchen have great finishes. Clean shower tiles and grout which look new. Kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of dishes, pots/pans, silverware. Not just 6 of everything like many places. Blender, toaster, waffle iron, rice cooker, coffee maker. Ice makers, HVAC, TV's work well. Beds and sofas comfortable. Linens and towels comfy and soft - no stains. Pool service comes 2x week. Beach view. GREAT outdoor spaces/decks. Second living room off pool ideal to provide some separation. House is in excellent shape - nothing broken, no holes, scuffs or stains on sheetrock walls or doors --feels and smells fresh. If you clean your vacation home from time to time for your family like we do - this place is REALLY easy to clean. All floors are LVT (vinyl planks that look like wood) which make this place a dream to clean up. And makes it super pet friendly. Huge, private-ish outdoor shower is fabulous. Hose bib right at car port. Both make rinse down after beach really easy. Easy up tent is not mentioned in write up but is provided which makes beach days wonderful. House has some beach toys like boogie boards and kid stuff. Outdoor furniture on decks and at pool is high quality and stable - not those cheesy glass tables and plastic chairs that blow over in a gust. VERY close to the beach. Close enough that you don't mind walking back and forth for the stuff you forgot! Just a shell/sand road to walk on for about 50 yards - no highway to cross - so really safe for pets and kids. Donna makes contracting simple. She's incredibly easy to work with and extraordinarily helpful. The management company makes every transaction easy including check in. We rented bikes and beach chairs which turned out to be a great idea. There when we arrived and picked up right before we left. Clean beaches. Safe and quiet area. WONDERFULLY WONDERFUL.

We had a wonderful stay in Once Upon a Tide. The beach is so close and the pool is wonderful to have when you’re ready to just float. There were even pool floats, a tent and a beach wagon in the storage room/outdoor shower. The ice maker and cooler downstairs were so convenient! The house was very quiet even though the houses around us were filled with families. Everything was very clean and well taken care of from top to bottom. Even though our kids are older I did notice the baby gates at the top of the stairs and extras in the laundry room too for those with small children. The kitchen was stocked with all the cooking utensils and cook wear we needed. Our pup enjoyed her stay too just be mindful of the sand spurs if you bring a furry friend. The beach was never crowded and we didn’t have to rush out in the morning to get a good spot. Sunsets on the cape are just steps away and breathtaking! Be our Guest handled all of our questions before arrival so quickly-Donna was amazing! She was even just a phone call away after we left when we forgot a bag. From before to after Once Upon a Tide and Be Our Guest didn’t disappoint.

We’ve stayed at Cape San Blas before so we knew how very special this place is before we even arrived. Once Upon a Tide, was perfect in every way for us: location, configuration, cleanliness, decor, kitchen, ice maker (loved this), beds/linens...I could go on. We enjoyed every minute here and will be renting this home again. Donna a Be Our Guest was friendly, responsive, and even left us a small bouquet of flowers on the counter, which was the perfect little touch to our arrival. The only suggestion I have would be to the owners, the gas grill needs to be replaced or just removed. Seems like a liability as the burners are nearly all rusted out. We just used the Weber grill so we were thankful to have two options. Another suggestion, add ceiling fans to the deck off the main floor as it would be nice to have some air movement on those days where there’s little to no breeze. Again, everything was really perfect for us and we will be coming back again next year and likely just renting the same home. Why mess with perfection? See you next year!

We rented Once Upon A Tide after cancelling a week in a condo at Orange Beach. Wanted to more isolated from people and have our own private pool. This house was a great fit for our extended family of 9 which includes my 3 grandchildren—ages 4, 7 and 10. They especially loved the pool and spent a lot of time in it as did the adults. On the last 2days of our trip the beach had double red flags so it was nice to have the pool. We were close to beach with an easy short walk. Beach was not crowded at all and we were easily able to keep distance from others. The house included most everything we needed to cook all our meals and eat in. Would definitely stay here again. Donna and Brian were great to work with. A 5 star vacation for sure.

We had a great week. We had changed from a four bedroom condo in Orange beach to this house to have a private pool and no other people nearby. The house is great and furnished wonderfully. The only thing is there was no elevator but that can’t be helped. Also the queen bed on the main level is very high. It was hard getting in and out. I know it is for storage with drawers underneath but there is plenty of room in the closet for a set of drawers. Everything else was wonderful. Donna and Brian were wonderful To work with. The house was clean upon arrival. The bottom of the kids feet did not get dirty walking around. Warning about the neighbors at the end of the road. They watch everything. You are not allowed to park the golf cart there but it was great having it to haul gear and me to the end.
The ice maker downstairs was great and the drink fridge was wonderful. It would be nice to have another small fridge upstairs somewhere. We played refrigerator Jenga with food. It got to be funny. That would be in an ideal world. We loved the house. We would bo

Renting this house is more of an experience than a regular reservation at a hotel or other vacation homes. The service received by Donna, the amenities, and the attention to details is top of line. The place is spacious, modern, inviting and very clean. The place is not right on the beach but only a few steps from it so we went to the beach with our dog multiple times. We loved the area. We wished that we had more time to explore the Cape and Port St Joe more but we will be back. Please note that the house is on three levels. It worked very well for us since we really don't mind stairs and the view is fantastic.
